Perfectly located for any Washington event, the Frosene Center is a convenient and elegant venue for your special occasion. Inspired by a Byzantine aesthetic, this imposing limestone building is beautifully sited and introduces guests through a formal drive and entry foyer. Facilities include a formal Ballroom ideal for wedding celebrations and an atrium with an adjoining outdoor patio perfect for cocktail receptions. An auditorium and smaller meeting rooms are also available. Plentiful parking in the rear of the building eliminates parking worries. Situated on the third floor of the center, the ballroom is decorated in warm neutral tones and cherry wood accents with detailed hardwood floors throughout, wall tapestries and several crystal chandeliers. Brightly lit by many windows, the room feels airy and fresh. Access to the ballroom includes two sets of marble accented elevators and a grand granite staircase. Restroom facilities and a caterers kitchen are adjoining.

Situated on the main floor of the center, the glass-enclosed atrium is perfectly situated for smaller gatherings or an opening cocktail hour. Decorated in warm, neutral tones, the room is accented with cherry wood details and has an Italian stone floor that provides the room a European feel. The Atrium is connected to an outdoor patio perfect for warm weather gatherings and is within easy access of the Ballroom via two marble floored elevators and a granite staircase. The Atrium also includes access to a kitchen for bar service or light catering needs.

Located in the lower level of the Cathedral and easily accessible by the Frosene Center, the auditorium is a casual venue for informal gatherings. The well-sized room is connected to a kitchen and restroom facilities.

All facility rental fees include the setup and removal of tables, chairs, and complimentary parking in our private lot (capacity: 121 vehicles). Linens and catering are not included, but can be arranged through one of our preferred catering companies. A rental discount is available for all members of the Saint Sophia community – membership details are available at the Cathedral office.
